W. Roy Jacobs is a dedicated family law attorney serving clients in Onslow County and the surrounding coastal communities of North Carolina. Admitted to the North Carolina Bar in 2019, Roy has focused his practice exclusively on family law, guiding individuals and families through complex and often emotional legal matters with professionalism, clarity, and compassion.
Roy earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Criminology from the University of North Carolina Wilmington in 2015, where he first developed a strong interest in the legal field. He went on to earn his J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law in 2019. During law school, Roy served as a board member of the First Amendment Law Review and was recognized for his commitment to public service after completing more than 100 hours of pro bono legal work.
While in law school, Roy gained valuable, hands-on experience through internships with family law firms, public defender’s offices, and district attorney’s offices. These experiences provided him with a well-rounded understanding of the legal system and strengthened his ability to advocate effectively for his clients. Following graduation and his admission to the North Carolina Bar in 2019, Roy returned to the North Carolina coast, where he has been representing clients in a wide range of family law matters since.
Originally from Massachusetts, Roy’s family moved to North Carolina in 2005 and he has called the state home ever since. Roy met his wife while they were attending UNC Wilmington, and together they enjoy traveling and spending time with their dog. Despite having called North Carolina home for over 20 years, Roy still diligently maintains his commitment to following Boston sports.
